Taking FULL Advantage of Darkness, Cold, and Food Scarcity in the Fall and Winter With Dr. Sara Pugh
Dr. Sara Pugh is a quantum biologist, circadian ketogenic coach, and earned her PhD in biochemistry and biophysics. Dr. Pugh specializes in all things quantum biology: heat, time, light, magnetism, water, and cold. She says that when these practices are leveraged together, our mitochondria can function optimally. In this episode we discuss the changing of the seasons which result in darkness, cold, food scarcity, and more. Dr. Pugh applies these changes to a new way of living, along with addressing the opportunity for weight loss in the winter, if a ketogenic approach is fitting for wintertime, and whether or not to fast.
WHAT WE DISCUSSED:
[6:36]- What led Dr. Pugh to explore circadian and quantum biology.
[14:00]- How to embrace winter with an optimistic attitude.
[31:31]- What kinds of foods are best for the body in the winter months?
[44:49]- How do changes in light affect the female menstrual cycle?
[49:08]- Is it healthy to take a vacation during the colder months or does this interrupt one’s circadian biology?
[52:34]- What are Dr. Pugh’s recommendations for priming the skin if it hasn’t been exposed to the sun for several weeks?
